Bentley 360

The Bentley 360 project provides an opportunity for the Department of Communities to drive one of the most significant medium-to-high density urban infill developments in WA.

The long-term, future transformation of the project site into a vibrant, integrated community will deliver a contemporary residential development of at least 1500 new dwellings, parkland and recreation spaces, as well as community, commercial and retail offerings.

With a focus on community connections, delivery of new facilities and support services, and new employment and training opportunities, the Bentley 360 project will foster a safe and inclusive community with a strong sense of place and belonging for all residents.

The former Brownlie Towers buildings located within the project site were demolished and a new temporary parkland has been constructed along Taree Street. The parkland features an artist designed polescape, ‘learn to ride’ cycle track, outdoor classroom, picnic area, parkour equipment, cultural street games and a walking/running track, and will remain in place until future development works commence.

The Department has also previously sought a development partner for the Bentley 360 project through an Expressions of Interest launched in May 2018. No suitable developer was identified for the project through the procurement process, which was finalised in September 2019. The Department has since been planning for the delivery of the project in the absence of a private sector partner.
