The annual Bentley Harmony Day celebration took place on Saturday 16 March and was again a great success.
Held at Hedley Park, the free family event provided the Bentley community with the opportunity to celebrate its cultural diversity. The event featured a variety of food stalls, interactive games for families, traditional Nyoongar activities, an exhibition of community art projects as well as the opportunity to write and illustrate a story at the Bentley Library.
The event was organised by community group Brownlie Community Focus, who have organised the event for the past four years, with assistance from MDC Places. MDC Places Community
Development Office Sue Crock said that the day was fun-filled and culturally enlightening.
“We were very pleased with the turn out and the community support,” she said.
The event is supported by the Department of Housing, the City of Canning, the Department of Local Government Office of Multicultural Interests, The Salvation Army and Medicare Local Bentley-Armadale.
