The accolades keep on coming for the Housing Direct team, which won every category it entered at the Auscontact awards on Saturday, July 18.

State winners were Caitlin Largue (WA Customer Contact Professional), Ross Cicirello (WA Team Leader), Monica Martino (WA People Champion), Dylan Spencer (Workforce Management Champion) and Tracy Thompson (Customer Experience Champion).

Tayla Orchard was recognised as WA State Finalist in the Customer Contact Professional category while Marisa Corby was a WA State Team Leader Finalist.

Acting Manager Tracy Thompson said the team was well represented on the night with 52 staff, family and friends attending the event to celebrate as the list of Housing Direct staff on the winners podium continued to grow.

“What a fantastic night we had on Saturday celebrating our Auscontact wins,” Tracy said.

“Throughout the night I had numerous Contact Centre staff and managers approach me to congratulate our team on another exceptional result and ask what our magic formula is.

“I told them all that it was simply to find nice people who you want to work with, train them, develop them, respect them and then trust them to do the right thing.

“That represents everything Housing Direct is about and it came through loud and clear on Saturday night.

Tracy commended the entire team for its culture of supportive team work.

“To have had such a significant turn out on the night speaks volumes of how much you respect the value of each member of your team,” she said.

“Well done to you all and thanks for being awesome!”

Tracy also thanked Housing for its ongoing support of the Housing Direct team.

“Housing Direct staff continue to send a large contingent to the awards night by fundraising throughout the year to reduce the cost of tickets,” she said.

“We would not be able to send as many people without the ongoing support of our colleagues, as we badger them with the many raffles we hold each year, in particular the Mirrabooka region, Housing Maintenance, Plain and Hay street staff.

“Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support, it means a lot to our team to have their colleagues cheering for them on the night.”

Housing Direct dominated the awards on the night with iiNet collecting four categories and the Department of Transport and Main Roads WA each winning one.

The achievement adds to an already long list of awards for the Housing Direct Team, including taking out the National 2014 Auscontact Contact Centre of the Year award in the 31 to 80 Full-Time Employees category.

Director of Client Services Steve Altham congratulated the winners and the finalists on their achievement.

“These awards are well-deserved recognition of the Housing Direct team’s daily commitment to go above and beyond and deliver the best possible outcome for clients,” he said.

“I wish the State finalists all the best for the national awards."

The State winners will represent WA at the National Award Night on September 25 in Sydney.
