The Housing Authority’s Housing Direct call centre has again been recognised as one of the State’s finest, taking the title of Contact Centre of the Year in the ‘21-49 Full Time Employees’ category at the 2016 WA Auscontact Awards on September 27.
The Housing Direct team also had great success in the individuals’ categories, with Housing Authority employee Beck Jackson announced as the Customer Contact Professional of the Year and Kristy Swain taking out the top award in the Team Leader category.
Acting Manager Housing Direct Dylan Spencer said quality recruitment and effective training was the key to the team’s success.
“Training and constant feedback is a big part of the way we do things at Housing Direct, and we specifically recruit people who we believe will work well in our environment,” Mr Spencer said.
“We are constantly encouraging and supporting each other to be the best that we can be in order to deliver an excellent level of service to our clients – both our Housing Authority tenants and non-tenant constituents.”
Mr Spencer said it was a real honour for the team to win the Contact Centre of the Year award again.
“It’s an extremely rewarding process to look back each year on the things we have achieved and how far we have come and to celebrate that,” he said. “It really gives the team a feeling of achievement, and winning the award is just an extension of that.”
The Auscontact Awards are recognised across Australia as the pre-eminent customer contact awards program. The program identifies the top performers across multiple individual and centre categories, recognising achievement at the highest level.
The State winners will represent WA at the National Awards Night in Brisbane on October 14.
